Overview:
Clinical Outcome Assessments (COAs) are essential tools in clinical studies and patient care, by measuring the effects of diseases and treatments on quality of life while amplifying patient voices. Each COA undergoes rigorous research, peer review, and demographic testing to ensure accuracy and reliability.
Obtaining permissions to use a COA may seem simple, but the process can prove complex due to the involvement of multiple stakeholders in the development, management, distribution and use of COAs. Identifying the copyright holders of COAs can be challenging, requiring a thorough discovery process to pinpoint the true copyright holder or authorized licensor. Only these entities can grant permission for COA use. Infringement can violate international copyright laws, leading to legal action, financial penalties, study delays, and potentially invalidated results.
In this webinar, Mapi Research Trust will present the fundamentals of copyright and application to the COA field. The session will also address the due diligence needed to minimize risks associated with copyright infringement and COA misuse.
Register now to learn more about the impacts of COA copyright on clinical trials and how to secure permission for use.
